The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion operates two centers: the Intercultural Diversity Center and the Safe Zone Resource Center. Both are housed in The University of Alabama Student Center on the second floor.

Intercultural Diversity Center

The Intercultural Diversity Center, also known as the IDC, offers multicultural programming throughout the year and serves a resource and gathering place for students, faculty and staff. The IDC, which is open daily, hosts exhibits, viewing parties, workshops, and other learning opportunities as well as space for students to study and socialize. The Center, located in 2100 Student Center near the Quad entrance, is a place for cultural learning, cultural teaching and cultural sharing.

Safe Zone Resource Center

Safe Zone Resource Center provides educational outreach, community support and crisis intervention resources for LGBTQIA+ members of The University of Alabama community and their allies. Safe Zone connects people to inclusive resources, provides training on LGBTQIA+ topics for UA students, faculty and staff, facilitates LGBTQIA+ community building programs on campus, and works to advocate LGBTQIA+ interests at UA. The Center, located in 2419 Student Center, operates 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is closed on weekends.
