Beginning March 30, the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will begin taking calls from currently enrolled students who may have questions or concerns about how to maneuver through the rest of the semester as they take classes remotely and still maintain a sense of community with our campus.
Students can call 205-348-3953 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to talk with a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team. LaToya Scott, DEI assistant vice president for university engagement and programming, will take calls from 8 a.m. to noon, and Dr. G. Christine Taylor, vice president and associate provost for DEI, will field calls from noon to 3 p.m. Students may also send an email to diversity@ua.edu. Zoom video conferencing is also available.
This form of outreach is vital to our ongoing efforts of making our students feel connected to the campus community. We want to help students process what is happening by listening to their concerns and by providing the support and important information they need during these unusual circumstances.
